FAQよくある質問

Questions, answered.

How long does it take to learn Japanese?

It depends on your goal and study time. Many learners reach comfortable travel-level Japanese in a few months, and JLPT N5 in roughly 6–12 months of consistent study. Professional fluency takes years, we’ll help you plan realistic milestones.

What is the fastest way to learn Japanese?

Combine daily self-study (kana, vocabulary, grammar) with regular live speaking practice. 1-on-1 tutoring gives the fastest feedback; pairing it with our self-paced lessons keeps costs down.

Do I need to learn Hiragana and Katakana?

Yes, if you want to read or progress beyond the basics. They’re very learnable, most students get comfortable with hiragana in a couple of weeks. Travel-only learners can start with romaji and add kana later.

Can I take lessons on my phone?

Yes. Lessons run on Zoom, which works on phones, tablets and computers. A laptop or tablet is easier for viewing materials.

Can I take lessons with family or friends?

Yes, shared lessons are possible for learners at a similar level. Tell us about your group in the recommendation form.

Can you provide recommendation letters?

For students we’ve worked with over time, we can discuss recommendation letters for study-abroad or school applications. Please ask early.

Are tutors native Japanese speakers?

Most of our tutors are native Japanese speakers. Some are fluent non-native speakers whose clear English explanations can be especially helpful for beginners.
